Privacy Policy

How SpartanResume handles your data

This Privacy Policy explains how Cha Yang, doing business as SpartanResume, collects, uses, and discloses personal information. SpartanResume is currently offered only in the United States.

Information we collect

We collect account information such as email, display name, account identifiers, and verification status. We store the career content you choose to create or save, including resumes, contact details, work history, education, skills, cover letters, jobs, applications, notes, interview practice, career plans, journals, onboarding answers, and profile content.

We also collect support messages, private feedback, referral activity, and community content. A profile, image, post, or comment becomes public only when you publish it. Email and phone appear on a public profile only when you separately choose to show them.

Stripe processes card details. We receive plan, payment status, customer or subscription identifiers, and transaction references, but do not store full card numbers in our application database.

We collect limited product events such as pages opened, tools used, workflow steps, exports, plan state, and result status. PostHog autocapture and session recording are disabled. Resume content, typed values, names, and emails are not allowed as analytics properties. PostHog uses local storage and a cookie and does not initialize when your browser sends Do Not Track.

Ori and AI processing

When you ask Ori to help, we process your prompt and the bounded document or workflow context needed to answer. We scrub direct contact data at the provider boundary and do not send raw image or PDF attachments through the current Ori route.

Requests go through OpenRouter to an OpenAI model, with provider fallback disabled. OpenRouter states that prompts and completions are not logged by default. OpenAI states that API data is not used for model training by default, while standard abuse-monitoring logs may retain prompts and responses for up to 30 days.

The visible Ori conversation is kept in this browser tab's session storage, not as a durable account conversation. Clear removes it.

How we use and disclose information

We use information to:

  • create, authenticate, and secure accounts;
  • provide the career tools and user-requested AI features;
  • save work and personalize workflow guidance;
  • process payments, plans, renewals, allowances, and cancellations;
  • send transactional account and service email;
  • provide support, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

We do not make employment decisions for employers. We do not sell personal information, run ads on user content, or use personal information for targeted advertising or significant-effect profiling.

We disclose data as needed to Google/Firebase, Stripe, OpenRouter and OpenAI, PostHog, Resend, and OpenWebNinja JSearch; to professional advisers or authorities when reasonably necessary; or to a business successor subject to applicable notice and law.

Retention, export, and deletion

We retain account and career content while your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. Other data is kept only as reasonably necessary for security, support, legal compliance, tax, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, and webhook-replay prevention.

Settings provides a portable account-data export. Account deletion requires a recent login, cancels recurring billing, deletes owner data, public-profile projections, and profile images, and redacts and hides community contributions.

Minimal payment receipts may remain for legal, tax, fraud, refund, chargeback, or dispute obligations. Provider records and temporary backups or security logs may remain under their ordinary legal and deletion schedules.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, learn recipients, withdraw consent, and appeal a request decision. Use Settings for export or deletion, or email support@spartanresume.com. We may verify your identity. To appeal, reply with the subject "Privacy Appeal."

We use safeguards designed for the information we process, but no security method is perfect. The Services are for people in the United States who are at least 18 and are not directed to children or minors.

Privacy changes and contact

We may update this Policy as the Services or law changes and will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required for a materially different use.

Terms of Service

The agreement for using SpartanResume

These Terms are an agreement between you and Cha Yang, doing business as SpartanResume. By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and the service

The Services are offered only to people in the United States who are at least 18 and can form a binding agreement. You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.

SpartanResume provides resume and cover-letter tools, campaign tracking, Role Alignment, interview practice, public profiles, community, and Ori coaching. It does not have an employer's private ATS score and does not guarantee an interview, offer, salary, or career result. Interview features are practice tools, not live interview copilots.

Your content and Ori

You own your content. You give SpartanResume a limited license to host, copy, process, display, and transmit it only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Services you request. The license ends when content is deleted, except for the limited retention described in the Privacy Policy or required by law.

You must review generated drafts and verify every fact. Ori is a drafting and coaching tool, not a recruiter, employer, lawyer, financial adviser, or licensed career professional.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Services to:

  • break the law, commit fraud, or misrepresent qualifications;
  • access another person's account or private content;
  • upload malware or interfere with security or availability;
  • circumvent access, rate, credit, or payment controls except where law permits;
  • impose unreasonable automated load or resell access without permission;
  • publish unlawful, abusive, deceptive, private, or infringing content; or
  • use interview tools as a covert live interview copilot.

Plans, payment, renewal, and cancellation

Free is a plan, not a trial. It requires no card and does not expire. Current prices, allowances, taxes, and purchase terms are shown before checkout.

  • The Campaign is a one-time 90-day purchase and does not renew.
  • Career Command renews monthly until canceled. You can cancel from day one.
  • Lifetime is a one-time purchase and does not renew.

When paid access ends, the account returns to free. Existing work remains readable and previously released documents remain exportable. Unless law requires otherwise, all sales are final. Nothing limits a right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.

Referral and promotional rules appear with the program. Public reviews are voluntary and do not earn rewards.

Third parties, suspension, and changes

Third-party links and job listings may change or contain errors. Verify a job before applying or sharing information. We may restrict access for fraud, abuse, nonpayment, security, illegal conduct, material breach, or protection of users and the Services.

We may modify features or these Terms. We will honor paid access and data rights as required by law and the purchase terms shown to you, and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." SpartanResume does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service or any employment outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpartanResume is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, opportunities, data, or goodwill. Total liability will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where law prohibits them or to liability that cannot be limited.

Governing law, disputes, and contact

Minnesota law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, both sides agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve it by email. Unresolved claims may be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Minnesota. Either side may bring an eligible small-claims case or seek urgent injunctive relief. No term waives a statutory right that cannot legally be waived.
