About
Built for the part of a job search nobody sees.
SpartanResume is a small, independently built product with one argument behind it: ten applications sent blind are worth less than one aimed properly, and the tools in this category are mostly priced to profit from the difference.
The short answer
SpartanResume is a resume builder that aims each application at the specific job it is for. Building, scoring and exporting a resume are free. The paid plan is a single payment covering ninety days, roughly the length of a real job search, and it does not renew.
It is new, and it is built by a very small independent team rather than a venture-funded company. That is on this page because you should know it before deciding whether to trust it, not discover it afterwards.
Why it exists
The job search is a months-long unpaid job you perform while your savings run down, and almost every tool aimed at it is sold as a subscription. That shape has a problem nobody in the category likes to name: a monthly plan earns most of its money in the months after you stopped needing it. The incentive is to be forgotten, not to work.
So the pricing here is deliberately awkward for us. One payment, ninety days, then it stops on its own. If you find work in three weeks we have made less money and done our job. We would rather have that shape than the other one.
The product argument is narrower and easier to check: applications aimed at a specific posting convert far better than generic ones, which is documented at length on the page about tailoring, with the source cited. Everything the app does follows from that one finding.
How it is built
Role guidance comes from O*NET 29.1, the US Department of Labor’s occupational database, covering 1,026 real occupations with their own work activities, skill vocabulary and titles. That is why telling us your target job produces guidance specific to it rather than the same generic advice everyone else receives.
The Readiness Score is deterministic. It grades things that can be measured: structure, completeness, quantified outcomes, writing quality, overlap with the posting. It names the exact line that would earn each missing point. It is not an AI opinion dressed as a number, and it does not move between runs on the same resume.
Orion, the assistant, drafts and edits with your approval and works only from what you have already given it. Every statistic quoted anywhere on this site is tied to a named source; the build fails if a figure appears without one.
What we will not do
These are commitments rather than features, and each one costs us something. They are written down so you can hold us to them.
We will not invent facts about you
Nothing in this product writes an employer, a date, a degree or a metric you did not give it. Where a number would strengthen a sentence, the generator leaves a bracketed prompt asking you for it. A resume that lies is not a better resume, it is a firing waiting to happen.
We will not claim to see inside an applicant tracking system
Every employer configures theirs differently and the settings are private. We tell you what parses cleanly and what matches the posting, because those are measurable from outside. Any tool promising to predict a rejection is guessing and charging you for the guess.
We will not charge you at the download
The category standard is a free builder and a paid PDF, discovered after you have typed your whole history in. Exporting is free here, up to 3 PDFs, with no watermark and no card. That is a one-time allowance rather than a monthly one, and we say so up front instead of at the button.
We will not renew a plan you stopped using
The campaign is $34.99 once for ninety days and it ends by itself. There is no subscription to hunt down. A monthly plan exists for people who want one, and it cancels whenever you like.
We will not sell what you write here
Your resume, your history and your job search are not training data or a mailing list. The privacy page states exactly what is stored and why, in plain language.
Who to contact
One address, and a person reads it: support@spartanresume.com. There is no ticket queue and no chatbot standing in front of it. If something is broken, or a claim on this site does not hold up, that is the address for it.
The privacy, terms and billing page covers what is stored, what you are agreeing to, and exactly how payment works.
Judge it before you pay for it
The free tier is a real one, not a demo. Build the resume, score it, export it, and decide afterwards whether the rest is worth anything to you.
